The most colourful event in the Prom country area

Meeniyan Marty Gras, founded by Marty Thomas, is the town’s biggest and most sparkly annual fundraising event. Held at the Meeniyan Town Hall on Saturday 26th October 2024, this year's event is the fifth of its kind, and is expected to attract 250+ party goers. It began in 2018 to mark the 50th birthdays of founder Marty and his close friend Kym.

Guests are encouraged to dress in their most outrageous and colourful outfits, embracing the theme behind Marty Gras’ namesake event.

This year’s Marty Gras includes a huge entertainment line-up, with not one, but TWO absolutely incredible drag queens headlining! Firstly we have the winner of Rising Drag Star of the year at the MEDEAs for 2024, the fabulous Kat Zowthabag, as well as the high heeled, high energy Xena Ghost, PLUS local crowd favourite DJ Golden Fleece.

Guests will dance the night away, and raise much-needed funds for foundations Opportunities of Development thru Art (ODA) in Cambodia, and Gippsland Pride Initiative Inc.
